T401 - Zeven Provincien L60
This museum-quality, fully assembled model of the Zeven Provincien is meticulously handcrafted from scratch using the traditional plank-on-frame method. Our master artisans devote over 100 hours to complete each piece.
One of the model’s most striking features is its exceptional use of fine woods. Rosewood, mahogany, teak, and other exotic timbers are carefully selected to highlight different elements of the ship, giving the replica depth, richness, and character.
The model boasts outstanding details, including metal anchors and cannons, an authentic crow’s nest, intricate rigging, rolled sails, and an exquisitely decorated stern—without a single plastic part. It is mounted on a solid wooden base with a polished metal nameplate, ready for display.
History
De Zeven Provinciën was an 80-gun Dutch ship of the line, named for the seven autonomous provinces of the 17th-century Dutch Republic. Built in 1664–65 for the Admiralty of the Maas in Rotterdam by master shipbuilder Salomon Jansz van den Tempel, the vessel took part in every major naval engagement between 1666 and 1692.
From 1666 to 1674, it served as the flagship of Admiral Michiel de Ruyter, one of the most celebrated naval commanders in Dutch history. After decades of service, the ship was decommissioned and dismantled in 1694. Today, a full replica is under construction, continuing the legacy of this iconic warship.
