T123C - Cutty Sark (curved sail)
This museum-quality, fully assembled edition of the legendary clipper Cutty Sark is meticulously handcrafted to the highest standards. Built entirely from scratch using the traditional plank-on-frame method, each model requires over 100 hours of dedicated craftsmanship.
Premium woods—such as rosewood, mahogany, teak, and other fine selections—are carefully chosen to enhance every part of the ship. The model features remarkable handcrafted details, including metal anchors and cannons, an authentic crow’s nest, intricate and expertly tied rigging, a partially painted hull, painted masts and lifeboats, brass fittings with name engravings at the bow and stern, and a beautifully detailed deck. No plastic parts are used.
The model is mounted on a solid wood base with a metal nameplate, making it a striking display piece for collectors, enthusiasts, or maritime lovers.
History
The Cutty Sark was built in Dumbarton, Scotland, in 1869 and initially served in the China tea trade until 1873. She went on to spend nearly two decades sailing between England and Australia before entering service under the Portuguese flag for twenty-five years beginning in 1895. Today, she is owned by the Thames Nautical Training College and proudly rests in dry dock at Greenwich, London.
